NAPIT Approved Contractor

The Approved Contractor scheme is for electrical contractors undertaking design, installation, commissioning and maintenance of electrical installations to BS 7671. Using a NAPIT approved contractor guarantees the standard of work carried out meets the stringent guidelines and regulations set out by NAPIT. This is a voluntary regulatory body which assesses electricians and the competence of their skills.

Gas Safe

Gas Safe Register is the official gas registration body for the United Kingdom. By law all gas engineers must be on the Gas Safe Register. Gas Safe Register replaced CORGI as the gas registration body in Great Britain and Isle of Man. The main focus of the Register is on improving and maintaining gas safety to the highest standards.

CHAS (Contractors Health & Safety Assessment Scheme)

CHAS (The Contractors Health and Safety Assessment Scheme) was created by experienced health and safety professionals in 1997 to improve health and safety standards across the UK.

Microgeneration Certification Scheme

Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS) is a nationally recognised quality assurance scheme, supported by the Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy. MCS certifies microgeneration technologies used to produce electricity and heat from renewable sources.

MCS is also an eligibility requirement for the Government’s financial incentives, which include the Feed-in Tariff and the Renewable Heat Incentive.

OFTEC

OFTEC is the Oil Firing Technical Association. OFTEC establishes the standards for competence within the domestic oil heating and cooking industry. By ensuring the quality of people and businesses working in this area, OFTEC maintains standards for reputable companies and consumers alike.
