936KW Ground Mounted Solar PV System
GeoGen Technologies were contacted in early 2014 by a client who was interested in installing a large scale Solar PV system on their land near Oswestry. GeoGen took the full lead in the design work of the system for the planning application and co-ordinated all the required communications with Scottish Power for the grid connection approval.
The system design and site plan was fully approved by autumn 2015 and work began that October with the completion of the access roadway to the site. The site was then marked out to show the table positions for the solar panels prior to a PUK Solar team from Germany arriving to install the framework, which took a total of 10 days to install. During this time the solar panels were delivered and trenching was opened up around the entire site to route cables back the inverter shed which housed twelve 60KW SMA inverters, a G59 relay and metering equipment.
As part of our work related to the Scottish Power connection a substation was constructed consisting of 7,000 bricks; this housed their equipment and adjacent to the building a 1MW Transformer was installed. Once the security fencing was erected around the site the system was ready for commissioning by early December 2015, with the final meter install and site switch on occurring on 24th December.
